It was great to catch up with so many of you last month in Kilkenny!
Plans for events, research and other member activities for the rest of the year are well underway. As most of you will be aware, MMC Ireland agreed a formal partnership with the Offsite Alliance in the UK earlier this year (https://www.offsitealliance.org/); given our remit to grow the MMC market for Ireland-based operators, the UK market is an increasingly important target for us.
With this in mind, our Q3 members’ meetup will take place in the UK during Offsite Construction Week (an exciting new annual event for the calendar!) at the Offsite Expo (www.offsite-expo.co.uk) taking place in the Coventry Building Society Arena on September 17th and 18th. MMC Ireland will have a dedicated lounge space within the Expo arena, which can be used by all members to network and host meetings. To increase the value for our members who wish to travel, MMC Ireland has arranged to work with a UK-based liaison to support members in arranging meetings and making new connections in advance of the Expo.
The following month, MMC Ireland will also have a presence at UK Construction Week (https://www.ukconstructionweek.com/welcome-birmingham) in Birmingham from the 1st to the 3rd October. We will be happy to support any members who are exhibiting or attending that event.
As you will see from Ronan Lonergan’s update below, the Technical Guidance & Knowledge Sharing working group has been working on preparing a catalogue of our members offerings and we are aiming to have this live on our website and available for circulation by the first week of September. It is vitally important we have as many members as possible to complete this online catalogue. We want to launch this at Offsite Construction Week and it will be a valuable tool in giving your business exposure to a wider audience. Thank you to all members who have already submitted details of their products and services for inclusion in the catalogue; for members who have yet to complete this, please do so as a matter for priority at the following link – https://form.jotform.com/240572210216039
This body of work will be submitted for design and layout at the end of July, so it is important for all members to submit their information at the link above as soon as possible.
Finally, we are delighted to welcome Philip Hryhorchuk, a student from TU Dublin, to the MMC Ireland team for the summer. Philip will help us, and the working groups, to undertake a series of research initiatives. He will be looking to speak with all members over the next eight weeks and we would appreciate your engagement with his research, which will help inform the work we are doing on various State steering groups.
