Message from CEO, Paul Tierney
Firstly I would like to thank Ronan Lonergan and all the team at Cairn for facilitating last month’s members day in Seven Mills, it is a very impressive new town that is under construction and it is great to see so many elements of MMC being employed both off and on site.
Next year’s MMC Ireland National Conference takes place in The Johnstown Estate on March 11th and 12th. The Chairs of our working groups will work with the team in shaping the conference but we want all our members to have their input into what the programme looks like. There will be a whiteboard on the website in the Member’s Portal where you can add your suggestions for topics, speakers and anything else you’d like to propose. You will be asked for your comments in your respective working groups on the 11th, however, in the meantime you input any suggestions into the members portal.
As you are aware, on Thursday December 12th we will be holding an event in the Head Office of EY in Harcourt Street, Dublin. The event will take place from 2pm and will focus on MMC Skills and the work EY and the Government are undertaking in this space as well as a review of all members suggestions around MMC Procurement.
Below you will find a link to a whiteboard on the Members Portal and your suggestions around procurement both current and future are vital to allow us put together a proposal to government as to what best practice in the procurement of MMC projects and frameworks look like.
After the event we will have some Christmas networking with food and drinks next door in the Camden Court Hotel. Please RSVP to Katie as soon as possible to allow us plan for numbers. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible and whilst I know December can be a busy time with wrapping up year ends and various events, if you can make the time it would be great to see you there.
Lastly, we are very excited to welcome Anna Whiting (annawhiting.com) on board. Anna has joined us this month and will see you at our event on the 12th. Anna will takeover from Katie with all member’s activities and we will focus on growing this part of MMC Ireland in 2025 with more networking events as well as a focus on members working together. Katie will solely focus on our National Conference in March, The Construction Summit in April and The Offsite Expo in September.
Anna will try to meet as many of you in person in January and February to see how we can further improve your experience within MMC Ireland.
Kind regards,
Paul
