Hello << Test First Name >>

Message from CEO, Paul Tierney

Dear Members,

It was great to see a number of you at the National construction Summit earlier this month. There were a lot of interesting panel discussions and presentations from the members and others, providing meaningful insight into what is going on in our industry both in Ireland and further afield.

Member Events:

With both our National Conference and the National construction Summit behind us, our next 2 Member events will take place in June and August/September.  We will be hosting a member event at the Advanced `Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (amtce.ie) in Dundalk. To quote, “The AMTCE provides companies with direct access to cutting edge advanced manufacturing equipment, pilot line training facilities, prototyping capabilities for new products and access for learners to work on real business projects.

The facility has 18 Robotic Education Cells, 4 Cobot Cells and 7 Robotic Welding Cells and will be of great interest to you if you are looking to advance both your training and your facilities and move towards semi-automation and automation. Then date will be mid-June and we will confirm the details in the coming week.

The second event will be a sponsored networking event and will take place in Dublin in August/September. We are currently putting together the programme and will poll you for the most suitable date.

New Initiatives

EPD Certification Support
As mentioned, We will be commissioning a company—on behalf of our members—to assist with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for your products. We will detail what this looks like at our Technical Working Group on May 13thand circulate to members thereafter. We expect this not to cost our members any fee as your membership and a lead sponsor should cover the cost.

Lunch & Learn Series
The “Lunch and Learn” series will be discussed at the Education and Skills Working Group on the 13th and we will outline how this will work for members thereafter and we will have the first of the series kick off in June.

A Roadmap for Govt. Procurement of MMC
We are in discussions with the CIF, RIAI, Engineers Ireland and the SCSI with the intent to publish a Roadmap for the Govt Procurement of MMC. This will be discussed at our Policy Working Group on May 13th and we expect this to be an important document in educating the Government in how to procure MMC projects across all departments, Education, Health and Residential.

Technical Working Groups

The next sessions take place on May 13thand I would welcome all members to attend if you have the time. Each session takes 30-60 minutes and it is your voice and participation that helps shape the organisation and where we expend our time and resources.

MMC Leadership and Integration Group

The Government’s MMC Leadership and Integration Meeting is taking place today and we are represented by myself and Pat Kirwan, the Chair of our Policy Working Group. This is the forum where we have an open and interactive discussion with the decision makers in Government to discuss the opportunities and challenges in MMC delivery and how we can overcome them. This is where your voice is heard at the Government table and why it is vitally important we hear from you either through the Working Groups or directly about the challenges you face. I will send a separate communication post meeting about the key takeaways.

As always, feel free to contact me directly at paultierney@mmcireland.com or 086-2433560 if there’s anything I can assist you with.

Regards,
Paul

The MMC Ireland National conference was an incredible success and we have attached a link to the recordings of the presentations and they can also found in the members area of the website
