Dear Members, Firstly I’d like to welcome another new member to MMC Ireland. Symetri, a leading provider of software to the Irish construction and manufacturing sectors and an Autodesk Platinum Partner. We will highlight Symetri in May and it’s a pleasure to add another quality organisation to the membership.
There are a number of key items occurring at the moment that I recommend you engage with. The Technical Working Group is leading on engagement with the NSAI around a number of pressing issues and separately the NSAI have been in touch seeking member engagement in developing the National Annex for EN 1993-7: Sandwich Panels. We will be in touch directly on this point this week. We have met with the procurement leads from the UK’s National Hospital Programme and they are keen to engage with the membership on their current hospital programme which is heavily weighted in favour of MMC. We will schedule a call with the members to introduce you where they will explain the engagement process with the programme and the opportunities for Irish manufacturers and contractors. I am aware of the significance of the current delays to the Department of Education’s framework programme. We engaged with the Department through the Government’s MMC Leadership and Integration Group in April and have sent the official line from the Dept. on their programme to the framework members. If you have not received that update please get in touch and we will forward it on. I am keen to assist in this area and would welcome any feedback on the framework procurement progress. I’d like to thank Rory Ryan from Ryan and Lamb, who delivered an excellent Lunch and Learn session on April 30th. Next up is Capcon Engineering on the 28 followed by the NHP on the 4 June . We are continuing our video production roadtrip and the next group is scheduled for the end of June. Call for Industry Input
We are reaching out on behalf of the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) to invite expressions of interest from relevant MMC Ireland Members in an important standards development initiative.
Rory Gilbride, Standards Officer with NSAI, is currently overseeing aspects of the second-generation Eurocodes, including EN 1993, EN 1994, and EN 1999 . As part of this work, NSAI is seeking industry expertise to contribute to the development of the National Annex for EN 1993-7: Sandwich Panels.
This is a valuable opportunity to help shape national guidance in this area and ensure it reflects current industry knowledge and best practice.
If you are interested in getting involved or if you would like to nominate a colleague within your organisation please email anna@mmcireland.com. An informal discussion can then be arranged to outline what participation would involve.
We encourage members with relevant experience or interest in this area to consider contributing.

Join Capcon Engineering for a Lunch & Learn session exploring why rainwater management is now a critical infrastructure issue for modern buildings. As buildings become more complex and climate pressures increase, rainwater systems play a direct role in compliance, resilience, operational performance and long-term asset value.
However, many projects still rely on late-stage drainage design and fragmented delivery approaches, creating avoidable risks and inefficiencies.
This session will explore how early, coordinated and independent rainwater design can significantly improve project outcomes across concept, design, construction and operations.
This CPD naturally benefits MMC as it significantly simplifies on site construction and due to the design work put in at an early stage lends itself to prefabrication off site and reduced construction times onsite. |

Overview:
MMC Ireland, on behalf of CitA Skillnet and Technological University of Shannon (TUS), are delighted to invite you to a special introductory session presenting an exciting postgraduate programme in Modern Methods of Construction which has been developed in direct response to the Government’s MMC Action Plan.
Presented by Dr. Alan Hore of CitA Skillnet and Alan Duffy of Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), this session will introduce the new programme and give you the opportunity to learn more about how it can support your professional development and career progression in Ireland’s rapidly evolving MMC sector.
About the programme:
Commencing in September 2026, the programme shall consist of three sequential qualifications at Level 9 NFQ leading to a Postgraduate MSc in MMC Leadership.
PG Certificate in MMC Adoption (30 ECTS) — Building the strategic, financial, and technical foundations for MMC Adoption PG Diploma in MMC Optimisation (30 ECTS) — Developing the digital, operational, supply chain, and business development capabilities to scale and optimise MMC within your organisation PG MSc in MMC Leadership (30 ECTS) – MMC Strategy Development & Implementation
The webinar will cover: The MMC Postgraduate programme overview, structure and learning outcomes Entry requirements and the application process Q&A with the academic and CitA team

Public Sector Housing Procurement Survey |
|
|
Ireland’s public housing system faces increasing pressure to deliver homes at greater scale, speed, and quality, while meeting sustainability and labour constraints.
Government policy has identified Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) as a key part of the solution, yet international and domestic experience shows that public procurement structures are critical to whether MMC can succeed in practice.
We are inviting MMC Ireland members involved in public housing delivery to complete a short survey to share practical, evidence-based insights on procurement, planning, and regulatory processes. Survey findings will directly inform the discussion and recommendations in the final report.
The survey takes approximately 4 minutes, and all responses will be treated in confidence and reported in aggregate.
