Hello << Test First Name >>

Message from CEO, Paul Tierney

Dear Members,

I’m looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible next week. It has been a busy start to the year for many in the industry, which is always great to see. Encouragingly, the Department of Education has allocated a significant number of schemes from the current framework, set to expire this year. Additionally, Department of Further and Higher Education is finalising designs for its substantial Student Accommodation Programme. We will be meeting with them after the event to discuss how we can assist.

Our primary focus over the past month has been preparing for the National Conference on March 11th and 12th. I’m excited about the programme of speakers we’ve assembled, and I’m confident the schedule and presentations will be of great interest and benefit to you all.

Anna, Katie, and I will be available throughout the two days. Anna has already arranged one-on-one meetings with several of you to help shape the member experience for 2025, which will begin right after the conference. We have a number of initiatives ready to launch, with one of our key priorities being to facilitate collaboration among our members – creating commercial opportunities both within Ireland and beyond, including the UK and other markets.

The National Conference presents a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow members and industry professionals. The networking food and drinks reception, sponsored by Framecad, will be a prime setting for these interactions. We have a fantastic list of attendees, and all exhibition space has been sold out, featuring an impressive line up of exhibitors, including many of our members.

I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. As always, please feel free to contact me directly at paultierney@mmcireland.com or 086-2433560 if there’s anything you need.

Regards

Paul

Member Achievements and Initiatives

Our Director Peter Deegan has had a busy couple of weeks… along with managing our Norfolk facility he’s also found the time to begin the planting some of the hundreds of trees we plant each year, he organised a clean up of some of our local streets, oversaw the installation of more PV solar panels and to top it off he and Kshitij ran the Cancer Research London Winter Run! What a great start to the year 🙌 🏅 🌳

Congratulations to Cairn on winning Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative Project of the Year award for Cairn Community Games at The National Property Summit & Awards 2025! 🎉

🌍 Celebrating hashtag#WorldEngineeringDay with Sustainable Innovation.

This year’s theme highlights the key role engineers play in advancing the
United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a mission we proudly support as a UN Global Compact signatory.

At Etex, engineering excellence goes hand in hand with sustainability. Our French teams are driving impactful projects that reduce our environmental footprint and optimise resources:

💧 Water Reuse in Carpentras: By recovering water from the plasterboard plant dryer via condensation and reusing it as fresh water, we’re minimising water consumption and improving energy efficiency.

⚡ Energy Efficiency in Mériel: Replacing three energy-intensive furnaces with a single advanced oven reduces energy consumption by 30% per ton of plaster, – the equivalent of 200 washing machine cycles – a key step in our commitment to responsible production.

A big thank you to our engineers and teammates for making sustainable progress a reality!
