Dear Members, As part of the Government’s MMC Action Plan, MMC Ireland, on behalf of CitA Skillnet and Technological University of Shannon, are hosting a webinar on Thursday June 4th, presenting a new postgraduate programme in Modern Methods of Construction. This is an exciting step in advancing the skills agenda in MMC and I would urge you to listen in to establish if it is of interest to you or any of your staff members. You should have received a notification about it in the last few days and if not please email Anna, at anna@mmcireland.com.
There is a real opportunity for you to help shape the direction of MMC Ireland over the coming months and years. We will be holding Director Elections in the next couple of months and I will send out a separate communication to you, to explain the process. If you’d like to discuss this with me personally, by all means, give me a call or drop me an email.
MMC Ireland are one of the founding members in the newly established European Organisation for Industrialised Construction, who’s President is Pat Kirwan, Associate Director in Reddy Architecture and Chair of our Policy Group. We will hold a seat on the Board of Directors, giving us real influence on the increasingly important European stage and giving members direct access to what is going on and how you can contribute to European Commission decisions that will have a real impact on your businesses.
The lunch and learn series is continuing to be a great success and something we are very proud of. I’d like to thank Donnacha Tobin from Capcon Engineering who gave an excellent presentation on siphonic drainage in today’s buildings which I personally found fascinating.

Call for Industry Input
We are reaching out on behalf of the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) to invite expressions of interest from relevant MMC Ireland Members in an important standards development initiative.
Rory Gilbride, Standards Officer with NSAI, is currently overseeing aspects of the second-generation Eurocodes, including EN 1993, EN 1994, and EN 1999 . As part of this work, NSAI is seeking industry expertise to contribute to the development of the National Annex for EN 1993-7: Sandwich Panels.
This is a valuable opportunity to help shape national guidance in this area and ensure it reflects current industry knowledge and best practice.
If you are interested in getting involved or if you would like to nominate a colleague within your organisation please email anna@mmcireland.com. An informal discussion can then be arranged to outline what participation would involve.
We encourage members with relevant experience or interest in this area to consider contributing.

Overview:
MMC Ireland, on behalf of CitA Skillnet and Technological University of Shannon (TUS), are delighted to invite you to a special introductory session presenting an exciting postgraduate programme in Modern Methods of Construction which has been developed in direct response to the Government’s MMC Action Plan.
Presented by Dr. Alan Hore of CitA Skillnet and Alan Duffy of Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), this session will introduce the new programme and give you the opportunity to learn more about how it can support your professional development and career progression in Ireland’s rapidly evolving MMC sector.
About the programme:
Commencing in September 2026, the programme shall consist of three sequential qualifications at Level 9 NFQ leading to a Postgraduate MSc in MMC Leadership.
PG Certificate in MMC Adoption (30 ECTS) — Building the strategic, financial, and technical foundations for MMC Adoption PG Diploma in MMC Optimisation (30 ECTS) — Developing the digital, operational, supply chain, and business development capabilities to scale and optimise MMC within your organisation PG MSc in MMC Leadership (30 ECTS) – MMC Strategy Development & Implementation

MMC Ireland session with the UK New Hospital Programme – Progress, Priorities & Opportunities

Overview: The New Hospital Programme (NHP) is a major UK Government initiative that was reset in January 2025. The programme aims to deliver new hospitals and replace ageing healthcare infrastructure, including seven priority sites identified as having structural risks associated with RAAC.
While the original ambition was to deliver 40 hospitals by 2030, the revised programme now anticipates completion of the final projects by 2045-46, supported by annual funding of approximately £3 billion from 2030.
The session offers an opportunity to gain insight into the programme, its progress to date, and potential opportunities for industry involvement. |

Public Sector Housing Procurement Survey |
|
|
Ireland’s public housing system faces increasing pressure to deliver homes at greater scale, speed, and quality, while meeting sustainability and labour constraints.
Government policy has identified Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) as a key part of the solution, yet international and domestic experience shows that public procurement structures are critical to whether MMC can succeed in practice.
We are inviting MMC Ireland members involved in public housing delivery to complete a short survey to share practical, evidence-based insights on procurement, planning, and regulatory processes. Survey findings will directly inform the discussion and recommendations in the final report.
The survey takes approximately 4 minutes, and all responses will be treated in confidence and reported in aggregate.
